At LGGS we have a thriving music tuition provision, with around 200 students learning an instrument/voice within school. The system has proven to be a great success over the years with many of our students achieving graded exams, performing in school bands and choirs and some even going on to perform in national ensembles. A number of our students have also used their lessons at LGGS as a springboard to becoming professional musicians.
We pride ourselves on the variety of instruments we can offer at LGGS, in the hope that there is something to appeal to everyone! The following tuition disciplines are available for 2024 – 2025:

Guitar: Acoustic & Electric Guitar / Electric Bass |

Strings: Violin / Viola / Cello / Double Bass |
Voice: Singing tuition for all abilities |
Woodwind: Flute / Clarinet / Saxophone / Oboe / Bassoon / Recorder |
All Year 7 to 9 lessons take place during the school day on a rotating timetable. This ensures that pupils do not miss the same academic lesson every week. Each teacher is in school for one/two days of the week.
For Year 10 – 13 students, lessons can be arranged before and after school and during lunchtime/break to ensure minimal disruption to GCSE and A-level lessons.
Lessons take place in one of the 5 practice rooms. The room number will be made clear on the timetable.
